In biblical prophecy, the "One World Religion" refers to the prophesied end-times global spiritual system that unites humanity in a compromised, syncretic, and ultimately anti-God form of worship.
Narrative: From Seduction to Coercion
In a gleaming global capital, delegates gather under the banner "One Earth, One Spirit, One Peace" to sign the Great Accord of Universal Brotherhood. Julian marvels at the unity, convinced humanity has finally discarded divisive dogma for universal love.
His colleague, Daniel, warns him that this is the "golden cup" of Mystery Babylon—a seductive syncretism that empties divine truth of its authority in exchange for human consensus.
The atmosphere changes when a white-robed leader steps onto the dais. Speaking softly like a lamb, he calls down literal fire from heaven to massive applause. Instantly, the facade of tolerance drops. The speaker issues a binding decree: all must bow to the Image of the Leader and receive a universal mark, or face complete economic and social exile. As panic ensues, Daniel urges Julian to heed the ancient biblical warning: "Come out of her, My people" (Revelation 18:4), reminding him that true peace rests solely in an unshakeable Kingdom.
Eschatological Framework
1. The Two Phases of the Global System
Phase 1: Seductive Syncretism (Mystery Babylon — Revelation 17): A wealthy, culturally appealing religious alliance rides worldly political power. It promotes tolerance, universalism, and moral relativism, diluting sound doctrine into human-centered consensus.
Phase 2: Enforced Totalitarianism (The False Prophet — Revelation 13): The second beast, masquerading as harmless ("horns like a lamb") but speaking with dragon-like authority, uses signs (such as fire from heaven) to mandate worship of the Antichrist. Pluralism yields to totalitarian compliance via the mark of the beast.
2. Driving Factors
Syncretism and Pluralism: Relativizing exclusive truth claims (e.g., John 14:6) and blending biblical language with outside spiritual concepts.
Compromised Unity: Prioritizing institutional or humanitarian peace over foundational biblical commandments.
The "Tolerance" Inversion: A framework that begins by demanding total inclusivity and ends by criminalizing biblical orthodoxy.
3. Hallmarks of the Deception
Apostasy: A widespread turning away from sound doctrine to satisfy popular sentiment (2 Thessalonians 2:3; 2 Timothy 4:3–4).
Lying Wonders: Miracles that validate false authority and mislead the undiscerning (Matthew 24:24; 2 Thessalonians 2:9).
Self-Deification: The Antichrist setting himself up in the temple, proclaiming himself to be God (2 Thessalonians 2:4).
4. The Biblical Response
Discernment: Testing every spiritual claim against the written Word (1 John 4:1; Isaiah 8:20).
Fidelity: Refusing theological compromise, regardless of social or economic pressure.
Separation: Remaining distinct in character and allegiance (Revelation 18:4).
